genie78 0 Posted September 26, 2004 Best Products Cetaphil Cleanser ( the liquid one )- best cleanser on the planet. Doesn't cause breakouts and makes your skin really smooth after every use. So-so products Acnevention Acne Spot Dry Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Crystals Neutrogena Facial Cleanser-worked for a while but then would tend to irritate my face in the long run. It's not a really great product but it's also not a bad product. Worst Products Proactiv- irritated my face; caused breakouts Glytone Acne Kit- irritated my face; caused breakouts PanOxyl BP 2.5 percent- I think I'm allergic to this thing. Stayed on this thing for as long as I could but didn't see any major improvements. St. Ive's Apricot Scrub- did nothing but irritate my skin

freenalive 0 Posted November 25, 2004 WORKED WELL Neutrogena On-the-Spot (I haven't tried bp gel yet works really well) Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque (This stuff is awesome. I don't know if you'd call'em blackheads but I had this little things on my nose and cheeks that looks like black little dots, not able to pop, squeeze, whatever. Just black dots that wasn't very pleasant nose strips didn't help much, but this mask is just fantastic I put it on for like 15 minutes and it dries up, and when I wash it away the dots are just GONE. Not 100% but about 80% GONE I'm totally serious. Anyone with my problem do it for 3 times a week and they'll be completely gone. Helps with Acne too) Biotherm vitamin cleansing gel (OK I don't know if I'm not supposed to post expensive stuff here, well it's not really really really expensive it's $13.50..mom got it for me with the mosturizer and hydrating cream from Biotherm for my bday....And they're all good. The gel lightly exfloliates just not enough to irriatate your skin. I don't really feel the need to exfloliate with irrating scrubs after using this product...Plus it smells soo good and my skin is sooo soft afterwards ) WORKED OK Clean & Clear Deep Action Cleansing Foam Clean & Clear Deep Action Cleansing Mask St. Ives invigorating scrub (When I had oily skin it was good, but now my skin's verrry dry from CC Acne wash and this stuff was irritating I recommend it to oilier skin types) Phisotherm Herbal Astringent (2% Salicyic acid. It did seem to tighten up my pores a bit, especially after I did my nose strip and my pores were a mess... but it totally BURNS off the face) SUCKED!!!! Clean & Clear Continuous Control Acne Wash (This stuff transformed my skin normal to extremely dry, now I can't use an anti-acne product without using tons of moisturizer and still getting flaky. AND it didn't even help me clearing up.) Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash (2% Salicyic acid. Didn't change my complexion at all. Wasn't drying or irritating or anything though) Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser (Did not feel like I was cleansing my face at all, just some kind of a thick layer Face doesn't look clean, glowing and fresh like when I use other cleansers. Doesn't help with acne or pores either. I'd say it is waaaaaay tooooooo gentle...)

Winter 0 Posted December 4, 2004 Cosmetic/pharmaceutical companies are televangelists promoting fraud. My skin, in my 30's, is dried leather (from acne products) with heavy oil, eczema/contact dermatitis, acne, and wrinkles. And I'm a vegetable/fruit-eating vegetarian. IRONY SUCKS: Accutane Glycolic acid Natural remedies Antibiotics Retin-A Tazorac Salicylic alone is crap, BP alone is crap, alpha hydroxy alone is crap, but the combination has worked in controlling acne (with occasional Aclovate for eczema). Many acne formulations have complicated and comedogenic ingredients. I'm planning on dumping BP for Nucelle Mandelic Acid 15% serum (not impressed with other ingredients, though) because it exfoliates and is antibacterial. I may still need the Salicylic to keep the pores open.

Winter 0 Posted December 4, 2004 Why the heck are people spending so much money on cleansers, toners and masques? I use Bi-O-Kleen natural and gentle cleaner/degreaser for laundry, kitchen, bathroom, hair and face. If you live in the Pacific Northwest, Azure Farm sells it in a gallon for a good price. Bi-O-Kleen is good for people with allergies. Or use Aveeno oatmeal packets to soak up oil and cleanse dirt. Everything else is money down the drain and senseless cosmetic propaganda. The petroleum surfactants irritate skin, too.
