Yellow Skin

Recommended Posts

First off I'm not taking any medication or using any acne products

I have a yellow tint to my skin. Mostly around my eyes, around my nose

And above my eyebrows. It's most viable in the mornings.

Any idea what this is about? The skin isn't infected or swallon .

Do you have a lot of orange foods? Sweet potatoes, carrots, etc? Either its caused by that or if its noticeably yellow, you could have jaundice from liver disease, addisons disease, etc. I would really check it out.

Yeah I drink a lot of orange juice and lately I've been eating a lot of carrots too

It's not really noticeable but I can see it when I look in the mirror in the morning.

If this doesn't happen, does that indicate a deficiency? I've been wondering about this, because I eat tons of carrots every day (I eat or juice probably between 5-10) and haven't had any yellowing of the skin.

Do you a lot of fatty foods? Beta Carotine is fat soluble. Doesn't mean you are deficient though or else everyone would be walking around yellow or orange.

It's gone. Don't really know what it was about. Had it for about two weeks

I'm used to looking like a knob so it wasn't really a big deal. Just weird.

Gilbert's Sindrome. I have it too. It's a sign of the liver not functioning properly. However, it's considered harmless. Do you also suffer from any fatigue? The whites of the eyes turn yellow. It fluctuates, particularaly when fasting or in sickness. I have questioned whether acne would have anything to do with it, seeing as the liver is the chief organ of detoxification within the body. Phase 2 of the detoxification is compromised, due to a defficiency in the enzyme needed to break down 'bile' within the blood, increasing bilirubin levels, hence the yellow tinge to the skin. I think about 5% of the ppopulation have Gilbert's Syndrome and don't even know it. It usually shows up on a routene blood checkup.

My eyes aren't yellow it was just my skin. It was probably a form of Hepatitis or something.

I sometimes feel fatigue but it comes and goes. I can sleep any time, any where shifty.gif
