Do Sebum Plugs Cause Pimples?

Hello,

I got a lot of sebum plugs on my face this week. My question is: Do they get inflamed and cause pimples, or do they just stay on the face without doing anything? Do i need to remove them?

If by "sebum plugs" you mean microcomedones then yes: they are the first stage of acne within a pore. However anything big enough to see with the naked eye is already considered acne. If it looks black, it's a blackhead, if it looks white/skin colour it's a whitehead. They can progress to become inflammed acne.

To get rid of them quickly you can squeeze the blockage out, but it's not recommended; Use a comedone extrator instead if that's your prefered method. An exfoliating cleanser should minimize acne causing blockages long term.
