Blackheads, whiteheads and scars

Recommended Posts

Ok, here's my problem. I'm left with many blackheadsand whiteheads(which won't EVER seem to go away) and on top of it scars.

And the thing is I never have those kind of indentedscars before. I sure had red marks here and there, but never uneven surfaces.

And I'm pretty sure BP is the cause of it. So I've stopped using it. But thats making my blackheads and whiteheads getting more and more and more and more clogged pores. I'm using vinegar btw, so the only thing I do now is wash plus apply vinegar (heard it's good for scars--getting rid of them that is!). I dunno if those clogged pores were due to my being sick just the days before, I don't think so.

Yeah so I'm kinda stuck. Actually I'm not, cos I've already kinda given up on using BP. Now I'm thinking should I switch to Salicylic Acid or Sulphur or both? Well I've read somewhere from Melbbloke's post about that. But I dunno whether I should apply them topically (and which one first?) or just smear them over my whole face.

Hopefully we can have some forum where we can talk about getting rid of the last bits (hopefully) of our acne.

Thanks!!

USE BP FACE WASH ONLY ONCE A WEEK.

I actually don't have bp face wash, I'm just using a normal (whitening) cleanser. Is

it ok if I just smear sulphur on my face at morning and/or night? Would it be as bad? I just hope it won't cause scars.

Hi, i know that retinoids have a bad name around here. But for comedomal acne (whiteheads and blackheads), they are the best option.

Maybe you should visit a derm. I'm pretty sure he/she will give you a retinoid, probably differin because it causes the least irritation, or tazorac, cause it's very strong.

I read that it works better for unclogging pores than any other thing. It helps to repair DNA-damage too, so maybe its good for your scars too.

Just my thought, you can always add bp or something else.

Just dont expect anything during the first couple of weeks. It's a slow progress because it works by altering your cells and by sloughing of the upper layers of skin.

Thanks for your suggestion.

Will there be any facial side effects to the use of retinoid?

I've never visited a skin specialist before so what should I take note of when I do?

If you use tazorac, get a good daily moisturizer. Dries me out after a while. Then again, I leave it on far too long...I find the product works well for scars and existing acne but not a bit for prevention. That is the reason I'm on this board. Looking for secrets to acne prevention. Haven't found any yet.

My advice is not to wash your face for a month.

I you wash or shave do not use soap.

Plan cold water is OK.

This is the best therapy.

Do this for two months and you will not have acne.
