For anybody who has been on, or is on Duac: Did your acne seem to get worse when you first started using it? I've been using it for almost 2 weeks now, and conditions have gotten worse. I hear that it takes a little while for the antibiotic to kick in. So, I'm hoping it will and clear my skin up.

I was just curious if this worsening was normal, and to how long it tends to take for it to start working.

Today marks week #3 for my prescription regimen (minocycline, duac mornings, differen evenings) and my face is a little worse at the moment but my derm told me it is to be expected. And yeah from what i've read and heard it takes at least 6 weeks to see initial results so just hang in there.

I'm using duac cream, and at first it did get worse. But i even stopped using the pills i was taking also, and my skin got clear in about a month. But it makes your tan go away on your face.

I used to use Duac before I discovered Dan's gel, but Dan's works better and it's cheaper. My skin is much more clear with Dan's regimen than it ever was with Duac.

I used Duac for like 7 days. It made my skin look sunburned and it also looked like I had a chemical peel. My derm said I could have a benzoyl peroxide sensitivity so she took me off the duac and put me on some klaron.
