Good Sources Of Carbohydrates On Candida diet?

ive been sticking to the candida diet for about 3 1/2 months.lots of improvement to skin, but not so good on energy levels. i need to start working out again and begin being more active, but i need carbs for this. Ill be sticking to the candida diet, but adding small amounts of carbs. i just need to know the best source. ive been thinking of maybe

1. Apples (1 a day)

2.Brown rice (1/2 cup a day)

3. Purple Sweet potato (1 a day)

4.Oatmeal (1/2 cup a day)

Im pretty sure these are clean sources of carbs , with a low glycemic index correct?

Are there any other good carbs that i can eat in moderation? thanks.

I've been struggling with this one as well, that and milk substitutes (I don't know the specifics of a candida diet).

There's a whole thread dedicated to this topic:

http://www.acne.org/messageboard/breads-br...te-t267452.html

And from that thread I've preferred these recipes for bread making:

http://bearmedicineherbals.com/golden-flax-bread.html

http://www.celiac.com/articles/909/1/Celia...Free/Page1.html (this one calls for xanthan gum)

http://www.livestrong.com/recipes/flax-ste...foccacia-bread/

http://www.artisanbreadinfive.com/2010/01/...boule#more-1396

I haven't tried any of these, they just seem the most simple with the fewest/most accessible ingredients. I need to procure an egg beater or blender for a lot of the more carb-y recipes but I guess not for the livestrong one now that I'm looking at that closer. A muffin pan would come in handy too especially if I want to use a recipe I found for making carrot muffins out of the pulp that gets left behind in a juicer.

My boyfriend also works at whole foods, I wonder if they carry some sort of bread that's wheat/gluten/soy/sugar free....that would be so much easier...

I'd also seriously think about adding some leafy greens and veggies to that diet.

lentils!!! great in fiber also. each serving is about 20g of carbs and 9g fiber. veryy healthy and fills you up. i have these with my salad everyday. u just gotta cook them for alittle and your good. also eat a bunch of vegetables. they contains carbs and are packed high in vitamins which are great for clearing your skin. also recommend getting a lot of omega 3s. these reduce acne and inflammation. great for skin. you can get them from eating fish and flaxseed meal has lot too.

good luck!!

Oooh adding lentils to salads. I forgot you could do that! Garbanzo beans would be lovely in a salad.

of course i eat veggies. i eat steamed spinach with brocolli with all my meals.

A regular daily meal for me is

morning:eggs+spinach

lunch:chicken breast +brocolli

dinner:chicken brest +brocolli.

thats basically my diet. of course i add other things to it, such as salsa and other veggies for taste.

but i need more carbs, for working out. As long as its Low GI, i should be fine?

I have been eating a lot of oatmeal lately, but usually just 1/2 cup of oats at a time; otherwise, the GL becomes too high. It's really good with maple syrup (which has about a gi of 55) on it. Then have some meat or something on the sside.
