Do cortisone injections heal entire areas?

Recommended Posts

I have an area on the right side of my face (next to my nose - where the smile line is on the cheek) that seems to get these big disgusting pimples every few weeks for no apparent reason. I assume it's from smiling since maybe that stretches the skin and causes more oil production.

Anyway, if I get a cortisone injection, will it prevent pimples in that area? I attached a cheesy clip art picture to illustrate.

Also, what is the area of effect of an injection? Is it localized to one pimple? The area on my face is about 1 inch in diameter and some part of it is almost always inflamed and red.

Thanks for your reply.
