Is it ok to use Ziana and Retin A in conjunction nightly?

Recommended Posts

I want to try using both Retin-A Micro (.1%), and Ziana (Clindamycin phosphate 1.2%, Tretinoin .025%). Do you think that using both products together will be helpful, or will they just cancel each other out? My skin never dries out so that's not one of my concerns. I would be using them daily at night, with Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser and spf 15 moisturizer. I don't know if this matters but I also use Lustra-AF (4% hydroquinone) in the morning and a 10% benzoyl peroxide wash. My acne is moderate and I need something to really slow it down so I can work on getting rid of all my scarring.

no, do not combine them. There is no point in going beyond .1 tretinoin. There is actually a clinical study that concluded that .025 tretinoin is essentially as effective as .1 and .05% just with much less irritation. The additional benefit people see from higher percentages is just inflammation.

I would say just use the Ziana instead of the Retin-A micro.
