how can I convince a doctor to prescribe to me Retin A cream

Recommended Posts

my acne is severe, but it only occurs on my chin mostly (extremely large painful lumps that stay there for weeks). The doctor prescribed me two weeks of roximycin, which he said is a strong antibiotic and it worked immediatly. He told me to come back in two weeks, and I did, and he then prescribed to me minocycline. He gave me a prescription for this for 6 months. He also prescribed to me erythromycin gel. However I told him I would prefer to try a retin A cream because I have a lot of red marks that do not seem to be going away. He said no, because he thinks it may be too strong (peeling etc) and that the erythromycin gel will be more effective. What can you say to a Dr to convince them to prescribe to you a retin a cream?
