Does exercise help balance out hormones, thus helping hormonal acne?

I suffer from hormonal acne and its only on my chin, I've heard exercise can help balance out excess male hormones that girls like me sometimes have, is this true???

Long story short: the answer is yes.

But you should be exercising regardless of whether or not you have acne.

Exercise decreases stress hormones like cortisol, and increase endorphins. You should be exercising regardless.

Different types/durations/intensities of exercise have different effects. I have found personally that the two best types of exercise are:

1. Shorter duration, high-intensity movements such as explosive compound lifts with moderate weight, and/or interval sprint sessions (be it on a bike, running, swimming whatever)

2. Long duration, low-intensity such as walking/hiking... house chores etc... just plain old "doing stuff".

It's the long-duration moderate-high intensity, like extended jogging, that wears more on the body, elevates stress and inflammation, and forces your body to rely on sugar burning.

You must exercise even if you don't have acne. Make sure that if you sweat a lot, to shower STAT.

Keep exercising! Lift weights, jog, cycle, etc.. you'll feel super.
