Hi all.

I've attached some pictures of my scars, i've learned this are classed as "icepick" scars. I'm 37 and have suffered with these for a long time. It seems like i have hundreds of tiny pin holes on each cheeks (some are interlinked), with quite a few deep pitted ones.

Brief back story; after losing my acne at approx 25. I tried various chemical peels, these would flame the skin of the face, then after approx a week the skin peeled off (much like a extreme sunburn). These where mostly at Harley Street London, which cost me a small fortune with little or no results.

I then had laser surgery on both my cheeks approx 9 years ago, this was quite extreme, the treatment seemed to improve the texture of the skin, and some of the small scars lessed slightly, but did'nt really effect the deeper ones. I was told by the specialist that a second course wouldn't improve the deep pitted ones.

I tried a few peels again over the next few years, but gave up hope of really getting rid of or even improving my scars, and learned to live with them as best i could.

I always keep a eye out for advancements in treatment and upon finding this forum i can see there seems to be further treatments.

Any advice would be much appreciated. They don't look to bad in these pics, as i grow a stupple to cover most of it, when i shave you can see all the pit's in greater detail.

Welcome,

Your scars are very similar to mine (although you have a few deeper ones). My left cheeks worse than my right aswell. That could almost be a pic of my face. I also use the stubble trick haha.

I also live in uk. Annoying aint they, What peels did u try?

I'm thinking TCA Cross for your smaller ones. Dont know if youve looked into that theres a good thread on here about doing it yourself if your brave enough!

Thanks guys.

GTturbo, yes they are, i suffered really badly as a young kid, and got depressed and withdrawn over it all. It wasn't to a few years later that i come to accept that the skin is never going to be perfect and just get on with it.

I had peels years ago, i had them done at Harley street (small fortune), then found some on the internet a few years after that, very simliar to TCA cross, but the solution was about 25% and you applied it to the whole area, i.e cheeks. Over i course of a week the skin would harden, then flake, begin to peel off. It states you could use this and still go about your normal activaties, which is BS, i would need to stay in the house for a week to complete the process, as you had skin hanging off your face half way through.

Thanks for advice, i have justed ordered a TCA kit from the states, hopefully i might get some improved results.

I'll let you know, cheers.
