Hey all,

Not sure what's going on, but I thought this would be a good place to ask for help. I have been on Dan's regimen for about 3 months now, and I am still breaking out. I am not sure why. I am using Dan's cleanser, Dan's BP, and I alternate between moisturizers every other night (Dan's AHA+ and Cetaphil cleanser). In the morning, I use Cetaphil's SPF15 which is greasy, but it is better than Dan's plain moisturizer which leaves me extremely flaky, so I stopped it. My acne is really not severe, in fact I think it is more mild-moderate. Therefore, I don't know what I am doing that is not helping my acne. I also have stubborn red marks which don't seem to be going away. I thought they were, but they are looking fresh red right now. I feel like I go through up and down patches on an almost weekly basis, and I feel like one side is always worse than the other, though they switch almost weekly. I also use jojoba oil in the morning and at night when I don't use AHA+. Below are my pics, don't know what's going on so I need help.

P.S. I only break out on my jawline and cheeks, nowhere else.

I've been on the regimen for almost 5 months.

I had breakouts up until about the 4th month and I'd say i had mild to moderate acne. I also only really have acne on my cheeks and jawline and i also have one side of my face better than the other. Do you sleep on your side? That was the only logical thing I've ever thought of.

I now haven't had any breakouts for probably about 2 or 2.5 wks (knock on wood) and i still have the red marks, i think they just take time to fade.

If i were you I would hang in there, the same thing happened to me but now my acne is looking better (can't say the same for my dryness).

I'm definitely gonna hang in there.. I trust Dan's regimen for tons of reasons. I really believe in it. The dryness is actually getting better for me, flakes used to be way worse.

And in response to your question, I do in fact sleep on my side, but I change my pillowcase every other night so I hope that isn't causing a problem.

My skin looks like yours. This is very relevant to my interests.

Have you tried washing your sheetS? I noticed when I do that, I look a bit more clear. I suggest doing it at least once a week. Maybe 2-3 times.

I can't get rid of the red marks/breakouts either, although whiteheads seem to come up rarely now.

It upsets me..I don't understand why I have nearly clear skin and then start breaking out again. Maybe it's stress?

EDIT: also I use a different moisturizer as well. Just some Aveeno lotion from Walmart. Dan's moisturizer I felt wasn't penetrating my skin enough and felt greasy/oily. The yellowy color was a turn off as well. I would get lines on my forehead..and I'm only 18. As soon as I moisturized with something else, the lines went away. I don't think it was moisturizing...just sitting on top of my skin making it look shiny. It felt unclean.

I haven't tried washing my sheets. Makes me wonder..? Haha it's worth a try. Yeah I'm kind of breaking out again, huge bummer but the girlfriend is out of town for a week so hopefully I can get things under control.. And the flakiness all of a sudden is coming out of nowhere, I tried using more BP and my skin is going crazy. Keep me updated on how you are doing. Do you have any pics? Here's to wishin' we both get clear skin soon.
