how to prevent accutane flakiness

Recommended Posts

this works for me, i am currently on 40 mg clarus (canadian)

im about a month and a half in, and i had some pretty darn flaky flakies. nose, ears, forehead, everything was flaky, until.

i stopped washing my face. i dunno if it was just crazy luck, but i just decided to stop washing my face, and a day later, no dry skin. I tested it, when i come out of the shower, if i dont use moisturizer, flaky. moisturizer, no flakes. then, i have baths, dont wash face, or hair, no flakys. its been about 3 weeks since i stopped washing my face, and im happy.

i mean, i spend 20 bucks on eurcerins face moisturizer, used it daily, still had flakes. i use it, once a week now, after a shower. has anyone else noticed this? it might not work for higher doses, but it can definately help for lower ones, such as 40 mg.

I'm on 40mg Claravis, one month in. I realized that only washing my face once a day to take my makeup off really helped with my dryness. Now if I don't have makeup on at all, I don't bother washing my face. I only go about a day without washing it though.

Even one month after my Accutane course, i have had to do the same thing. Sometimes it wasn't necessary for me to wash my face since i hadn't worn make-up the previous day. my skin is slowly starting to retain its natural moisture again.
