Glycolic Acid Peel Help

Recommended Posts

Hi all. I have postinflammatory inflammation on my buttocks for 5 years already. I have used hydroquinione 6 percent, glycolic acid and lemon peel bioferment and nothing worked.

I bought glycolic acid peel 35 percent on amazon to try. I am an idiot because i threw the peel procedure card that was included in the product. So basically i don't have the full proper instructions.

http://www.amazon.com/Glycolic-Acid-Peel-3...0471&sr=1-1

All i says on the bottle with instructions is

Quickly apply the product to the treatment area, avoiding the eyes and mouth. Allow initial contact time of 1 minute, remove with coplous amounts of water. Adjust time as skin tolerance increases. Do not exceed 8 minutes. If redness or irritation occur, discontinue use. Follow peel treatment with SPF and moisturizer.

Can someone tell me when i remove it... its with COLD WATER CORRECT? And don't you always put moisturizer first and then SPF? Or is it different since i am doing a chemical peel? How am i suppose to put it peel on? With a cotton swab?

Also, is it really bad to try lemon juice from actual lemons if i am doing this peel once a week? I heard glycolic acid and lemon juice don't mix?

  • Apply Glycolic Acid solution with your fingers. Wash hands immediately with soap and water. Do not touch your mouth or eyes until you wash everything off. Using a cotton swab will be too time consuming considering the instructions say to apply it quickly.
  • Remove with cold water.
  • Your moisturizer should contain an SPF, already. Look into purchasing an Olay moisturizer with added SPF to save you the extra step of putting another product on.
  • Don't use citric acid and glycolic acid together. Let the glycolic acid do the job. It is already pretty irritating and harsh on the skin (depending on skin's sensitivity) as it is, so the extra acid might burn you.

you need to use bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) to neutralise the acid when you rinse it off. quite an important step!
