If you do this people - note that it does not cure you overnight.

I started this same type regiment with proper vitamins (exactly the ones listed), FIBER with omega 3, and probiotics.

Me before - constipated (all the time! for months), acne (face and chest), tired, tore up digestion due to all the years of being on different antibiotics for acne. When I started this program - I colon cleansed once a day for a week - then leveled off to once every other day. At first, I had a lot of cramping from the herbs that were inducing bowel movements. Some days it wouldn't even work and I had to take more herbs. Looking back on my situation now - I realize my digestive health was VERY poor. I also recommend doing hydro-colon therapy (this helps tremendously too) and I have done it before but decided to just stick to the herbs. I wanted my body to do the work again.

Now, I have hypothyroidism and endometriosis - so I know exactly what it means to have your skin affected by your hormones. In fact, my acne didn't start until I was 22 years old. That was when my skin started devastating me. I NEVER had acne before then.

Please give holistic treatments a try. For many of us - digestive health is really the answer. Please NOTE -- you may have a flare up. I did and I was so devastated I went to my derm to talk about accutane! He was going to put me on it because of my age and because of my ongoing acne struggle. I read all the side effects and decided it wasnt worth the risk. By the time I was done reading up on accutane (I was still on this digestive health regiment) my acne started to clear up (mostly I was infected on my chest and face). That was weird because it was just like the reaction my stomach had to the probiotics - when I started the probiotics my stomach would bloat up so big (well it was doing that anyway each time I ate food - no matter if it was just fruit or veggies). I thought to stop because of the excessive and extreme bloating (I had trouble with my clothes because of the bloating). But I kept going because I told myself how could this really hurt me and I have never done anything like this with full dedication before - so I have kept going.

The results: I have been on this digestive health program for 2 months now and I have felt and seen drastic changes in my skin. Major improvement.

KEY NOTE: absolute consistency (for many of us - we already have the discipline due to being dragged in out of desperation to every sworn cure or skin aid on the planet)

Other info on me:

1) eat 90% organic food (shop usually at Whole Foods)

2) take probiotic pills 2 times a day (the first week I started - I doubled up on them to jump start the program and because I had instincts that my digestive tract was absolutely a wreck)

3) exercise - (swim in indoor gym pool - salt water pool not chlorinated - a lot of pools around the country are trying to convert to salt water). Exercise is critical for my hypothyroidism and keeping my weight down aids my struggle with endometriosis

4) I see a holistic doctor and a bioidentical hormone specialist for hypothyroidism, hormone levels, and overall body health

5) Colon hydrotherapy - about once every two months (I should be doing more but I do fiber daily and am satisfied with results for now)

6) Kefer - I drink about a swig of this 2 times a day

7) Raw fruits and vegetables -- 1/2 my daily intake (sometimes I slack but thats ok - I am doing well and making conscious effort)

8) Now doing in depth study on adrenal function as relative to hormonal imbalances, acne, and digestive health

9) ABSOLUTELY - under NO circumstances - have I taken antibiotics for acne - this hurts my body's overall immunity and ripped my digestive track 9 ways in half - and I need to continue recovery

Anyone have questions - contact me.

Thank you so much Bumpfighter for all your detailed information. You went above and beyond, I really appreciate it!

Also, thanks to Case# for sharing your story and results! I am also looking into adrenal function in relation to hormone imbalance.

case Im curious about adrenal function and its relationship to acne and hormones..What tests are done to determine adrenal function? I have a ton of bloodwork that I've done in the past year and the only thing they've come up with is my FSH levels were high, my vitamin B12 was low and so was my vitamin C levels. I also thought at one time my bloodwork indicated hyptothyroidism but after seeing an endorcrinolgist that laughed at me, my drs felt it was just that one bloodwork whereas the others I had had didnt indicate anything. I also recently started Bio Identical Hormones in May. I take a combo of low estrogen and progesterone cream rubbed in my skin daily. While it has helped with my hot flashes It has not helped my skin. I am 44 and somewhat young to start but I have not had a period in 7 months and have lost a ton of weight since last November (35lbs). Albeit, it was partly beause I changed my diet for the better and cut out gluten, dairy, sugar, and processed food. I have also been taking Spironolactone since March 2010 and have not seen any difference in my skin. With all these changes I was hoping for something but ZERO. My skin is rough, dry with huge pores that clog and fill up with hard sebum daily. I also have rosacea as well but am undergoing Vbeam treatments for this. I have had chemicals peels, dermasweep microdermabrasion twice, and smoothbeam laser treatments. My biggest problems is my chin area. The pores are visible but smaller than my cheek and nose pores which is why I think they clog more. It has been a vicious cycle for two years straight trying to control this. I get what looks like milia type clogs in the crease and hard seed like clogs that I have to dig out with my tweezer in the corners of my mouth...Sometimes they are bulging and need to be released..Some are so tiny and look like a small white dot but it is actually a deep whithead underneath that. I cleanser gently and moisturize but do not have a consitant routine with a cleanser and moisturizer. I go back and forth with CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser and Garden of Wisdom products. I'm sorry Im spitting out a ton of information but I'm curious as to what your study found and what can be done to help my skin. I also wanted to mention my hair has been dry a a bone for many years, my hair dye has not taken several times and I have occasional dandruff as well..My only supplment is probiotics with fiber but have recently stopped this brand (Renew Probiotics with fiber) as it might have given me some cystic type bumps..I also have not done well with Evening primrose oil, Fish Oil, and even Flax. They all break me out in weird red bumps. I do occasionally try them again, not all at once, but they i always react poorly.

If you can offer anything I would appreciate it.

I stopped the original poster's regimen at right about the 3 week mark. I took 1 probiotic and 2 1/2 table spoons of the Fiber w/ Omega 3 everyday and I saw very little difference in my acne.

Heres the deal, DO NOT buy probiotics with any form of CFELLULOSE in it. this is what candida is made from, check the full bottle inngredients including capsule shell.

Question, i am a 28 year old woman who for the past 3 weeks have been taking omega 3 6 9 supplement, probiotics and digestive enzymes. I am currently having a horrendous flare up (on my chin- its coming up to my time of the month but the flare up is the worst i've seen in a while) and was wondering if this is normal when taking these vitamins.

How long before i get consistency in my skin clearing?

Also, will adding the fiber supplement hurt or hinder my treatment?

i have never done well with omega 3, 6 9 (fish oil) or flax or evening primrose oil. This could definetly be the culprit

Hi, I've had acne since I was around 23/24 and I'm now 29. It's really getting me down. I've been on several antibiotics, currently on Lymecycline - don't think it's doing anything. Outbreaks move from area to area on my face.

I've been taking evening primose, omega 3, vitamin B for a while now... come to think of it my skin has got slightly worse since doing so.

Could this be due any of the above supplements? Just something someone has posted has triggered me to think it could be.

Advice greatly appreciated.

I'm going to take a good look at my diet, as I do eat quite a bit of junk )can't be good for insulin levels) mixed in with fruit and veg. Also going to read up on the Paleo diet...

Not sure if anyone's tried this and can comment?

Thanks

RobotRage and Zeenik and others - it's been a while since you guys updated us so I thought I'd ask - how is your fiber/probiotic experience going? Is your skin still improving? Is it clear now?

Would appreciate an update, esp. as encouragement to keep at this regimen for at least a couple months. A lot of people seem to quit way too early, I'm trying not to do that! 10 days in and I haven't had any improvement, we'll see how it goes, trying to hang in there.

So if you need or want to know what i was doing read my last posts a few posts down labeled "i found my cure." The point of this update is to say yes that did work, and now i have something better and its been soo effective i felt i literally have an obligation to share.

Fiber and probiotics, what can i say, take them. you lose wieght, your skin improves, you even may have more energy, i have a good number of people take them with instant energy improvements. So what happens if your like me and it worked 85% out of a 100%? i cut out sugar and dairy or other foods you think might be the cause? still it seemed like something was missing for how close to perfect things were going. To most peoples standards i had great skin, and to me it was great, but i still wanted perfect if such a thing was possible for me have. But i had no luck so i just kept taking what was mostly working thinking that maybe in time things would fall into place.

I want to clarify a few things before i go on. I am NOT trying to sell you anything to make myself money. I originally took this new line of supplements because i saw the benifits my close childhood friends were having. The main thing that made me just whip out the credit card and buy them is when i checked them out for almost a month (and man i wish i had just went for it sooner) what was the three main things these supplements had???! Omega 3, fiber/herbal cleanse, probiotics, vitamins. Well i figured they cost more then what im taking but they are higher quality/dosage. The funny thing is once i ordered them and was getting set up to take them the diet plan that came along with it (and note this is a general plan not intended for acne sufferers or people with digestive issues) said to stay away from and this is the kicker if you read my last post, dairy, sugar, salt, flower and processed foods. i knew i would lose wieght and it would be a healthy choice to take this stuff so i stuck to the diet 100% for the first 14 days, then after that i cheated about two meals a week but generally 1. I dropped 10lbs so fast it was ridiculous. i went to the gym 1 time in that first two weeks but no cardio. i went from 170-173 (didnt weigh myself starting but that was my guess) to 163 almost right off the bat. im now at 161 but i just went on vacation and ate bad foods most of the time, and well drank alot. which after 5 days of bad eating i got two whiteheads. they are gone and healed almost right after they appeared. this to me proved my theories of acne being caused by overtoxification by unhealthy foods.

So i feel my duty here is to pass that info along. my friend who introduced me to these supplements was no joke going to lose his leg. they told him after injury to kiss it goodbye. within a week or two after taking them he was ok and now runs and exercises very regularly and is in incredible shape. for me this whole deal was the missing link for my acne, and i have always been a health/exercise conscience person and this has and is taking both those parts of my life to a new level. i get compliments about how good i look and im just over 30 days on these supplements. i went to the gym 5 days a week for 3 months and didnt get this much improvement.

so the scoop on these supplements is this. i can give you the info and you can find them for yourself off their website. i dont want people to take them incorrectly and not get the maximum benifit. alot of the information about the diet, food list, and other things came from my friend and the guy that introduced him to this stuff. after i was on this stuff for a few weeks i knew it was for me and i did sign up as a distributor. dont think oh nevermind he wants to make money. I knew i needed these and the money to become a distributor gets you 20% off them and most of that cost in supplements, win win. for me it was a no brainer. I want to pass this on to anybody it can help but ultimately i want it to be effective. I have a full time job, over full time, sometimes 7 days a week. i dont need this stuff to make money, it just did such good things for me i feel like im doing others wrong if i dont give them the information.

this product has an initial kit that comes with the herbal cleanse and a 14day multinutritional supplement supply after that. it is all very good for you, amino acids, omega 3, probiotics, vitamins, etc. there are 3 lines goals in this line of supplements to chose, energy which i take that is AWESOME (not caffiene jittery i drank too much redbull) but i wake up go to work for 12hrs and come home clean house wash the car and do laundry type of energy, one for weight loss, and one for overall wellness. they pretty much have something for everybody. they have stuff for athritis, weightloss, well being, athletic enhancement, digestion you name it. all of their stuff is legal for pro athletes to take (tested to prove it) and they have a huge list of unpaid supporters that do anything like football to tennis to race car drivers. once people take it they know it works.

So. if you think, wonder, ponder, guess or just know you want to try this stuff message me. I will give you the information you need to get it ordered and get on your way. I am even willing to talk to you on the phone and if it takes it even get you on the phone with somebody much wiser then me who can answer any tough questions. im still new to this stuff but im a lifetime supporter already.

Not to be rude, but the majority of people that hopefully tried the regimen in your initial post (myself included) had little gains against acne. You touted it as a miracle drug that cured all your friends with no restrictions to diet or cleansers, but it just didn't seem to have them same delivery for anyone else on the boards.

well if you ate processed/refined foods or foods that helped cause your acne and you expected to help your digestive system to improve that is like putting a diesel in a gas motor and hoping things get better. you cant fix your digestion till your food intake is where it needs to be, hence the reason your digestion needs to be fixed, you ate things that have brought it to that point.

i understand doubt. if the fiber did nothing for you, and i highly doubt you can make that claim, did you change anything or just add fiber/probiotics and call it a day? i never said that would work in my last post. i said foods are key to. at the time i just didnt know exactly what mine were and now i do, i can introduce them back to my diet and see red spots or small pimples occur. i stop eating them and within a day or two clear skin. thats all im saying, take or leave what you will.

also when did you and everybody else who supposedly tried things from my last post get together and talk about the effectiveness of it? if you can speak for the masses then maybe i should ask you for info.

so i went back and read my last thread. there are a few people that had great sucesses as well. the key being healthy diet while you clean out your body. the newest part to all of this is the fact that i now know the last couple things that were bad for my skin food wise and the supplements im on are also more effective.

if you go back and read my last post you will see anybody that had it be effective gave it more then 2 weeks and also started healthy eating habits. and if you come back and say i do eat healthy give me a list of meals you eat, portion sizes, and how the food was prepared. not trying to flame but that is part right there where healthy goes to unhealthy.

take from it what you will. sorry it didnt work for you the first round. acne sucks.

also just for what its worth one of my good friends who had luck with the fiber/probiotics found out diary was also making him have acne on his neck which he thought was shaving irritation more than anything. after i convinced him to give dairy a break is doing great, he put cheese on everything and had about a gallon of milk a day. my brother eats crap. unhealthy as you can eat. for his lucky butt fiber is all he needs. once he takes fiber his skin clears up. he isnt regular on it but when he takes it, it works. so yes there are different variables to everyones equation, however i am human, and i do realize now after committing to this new line of supplements and diet that my diet played a role for me even thought at first it didnt seem like it.

i never realized this thread took off like this. I havent been on these forums for quite some time, changed jobs a few times, relocated, and well now its no better but thats life.

as an update i did make another thread. there is a line of supplements that im taking which i cant say enough good things about, but with them came a diet plan, its very similar the paleo diet if anybody is familiar with that. i noticed alot of changes in my digestion after sticking to it and still do. to me its not a list of what i "cant" eat but more of a way of eating where i can feel my body is happier.

i know i have already got flamed for saying well in your first thread you said you didnt have to change your diet. honestly at first i didnt have to, after time and lots of fast food/soda/coffee/and working insane hours i started to have a few breakouts, much more minor then before, but i thought well maybe im overloading. at this point i can say for sure that FOR ME diet is important for my skin. eating in a way where my carb intake is lowered and protien/fat/carb/veggie/fruit is planned out by both portion and type and prepared in a way that is healthy my skin is on a whole new level i couldnt have been at before. i have upped my omega 3 as well which is part of these new supplements to balance my omega 3-6-9 fatty acid intake. have i given up any foods? NO. do i eat whatever i want when i want. NO. for me thats the cold hard truth about being acne prone.

im glad to see people are having luck with the fiber/probiotics. some of my very close friends still are on them, my brother has seen the benifits of them as well. for some i have seen it take awhile to get better, my brother is lucky and a little spurt of taking them keeps him clear for a few weeks. he eats garbage like a garbage disposal to. i unfortunately dont have that option any longer, ive had to change my eating habits as a trade off for the skin ive been searching for.

i have a few friends in the medical field and they fully believe as i do that acne is your bodies way of saying you are overtoxified. cleaning digestion for most is just fiber probiotics, but after what i have been doing now and talking to a friend in eastern medicine i realize that for us even unluckier ones digestion isnt just what comes out, its what goes in. i can tell you this, i used to eat dairy and i had pimples from it right away. now if i have some ice cream i dont get pimples, if i eat alot of ice cream and every night, pimples. my body is gaining strength against these things but they are still deterrents from clear skin for me.

if anybody would like more info on the diet or supplements im on now private message me, i dont get notified of the thread activity and im getting super busy at work so i wont be checking in here as frequent as maybe i should. i do have a diet plan that is in a PDF that is part of the supplements i am on. you could easily just do the diet and ignore the supplements im on and the times it show for ingestion and see if that helps. the supplements im taking i believe are much higher quality and have a way higher effectiveness for not only skin, but health, physical gains (muscle tone/wieght loss), and energy which is why i LOVE them. making my skin better and i look better then ever.

also something for me personally is that any type of sugar not from fruit is bad for my acne. i eat TONS of fruits right now about a 1/2 cup 3-4 times a day. i eat no refined sugar at all anymore, no soda or what have you. i may cheat once or twice a week but its in moderation and not a large blizzard from dairy queen like before haha. i think just like dairy has alot of negative effects for digestion sugar is just as bad. anybody trying this out, try to eliminate those if your not seeing results as fast or to help out the initial cleaning process ive heard that when you do colon cleanses they ask you no to eat sugar, salt, flour, or dairy or over eat at meals. all of those things make it harder for your intestinal health to get to optimal conditions.

I'm sure all treatments would benefit from a healthy diet. My diet, while not bad, I wouldn't consider healthy. I took probiotics and fiber for about a month before making adjustments, I just didn't see any improvements from when I started.

Also, food was never mentioned as "key" in your previous thread. Your healthy eating habits were talked about as a precursor to you discovering a cure to your acne, but never was there anything in there that signified that your regimen wouldn't work without the correct intake. In fact, to the contrary, I pulled some quotes from your original thread:

"I am currently two months in to perfectly clear skin. I have started to wear hats, eat sugars and dairy again and i go to the gym 4 days a week and sweat my @ss off. None of this effects my skin any longer."

"The cure is not in your food intake, but in your digestive tract and your BM's. after 1 week taking fiber you will be able to see everytime you #2 that you were not healthy in your digestion. the foods you eat DO NOT CAUSE ACNE, unless you have a reaction to them. "

also when did you and everybody else who supposedly tried things from my last post get together and talk about the effectiveness of it? if you can speak for the masses then maybe i should ask you for info.

You mean in the 165 replies of your last thread?

If done this regimen. The thing that really worked for me was washing my face with Dermify. I take the supplements, because what the hell it can't hurt. I've missed taking them for days at a time and my acne has been totally under control. I only have red spots from where acne was. And getting rid of these has been a bigger pain in the ass then the acne itself.

Dermify is expensive but it definitely helped me big time ph balancing my skin.

most people seem to be giving fiber/probiotics only a one-month shot. isn't that too short to really make a fair judgment? health changes take a long time to see, and even when you look at prescriptions like accutane and antibiotics, they say it could take up to 4-5 months to see a change. why are people willing to keep at those poisons for that long, yet drop probiotics if they don't see an almost immediate change?
