What i've learned from the regimen (Pics included of me now)

When I am not on a GOOD regimen, I have extremely persistent moderate/severe acne. I have been a long time DKR user in the past (for those of you who are brand new to this site, that is Dan's regimen) and it has gotten me clear every time I use it. I usually get pissed off that it takes so much damn time to apply and stop using it after about 6 months. Anyways, I have finally found the regimen that works perfectly for me. However, I feel like I would not have ever gotten this clear If I hadn't applied some basic DKR rules to my new regimen. Here they are:

1. Be gentle when washing face and applying the topicals

2. Moisturizing is good for your skin and essential!

3. Clean towels! and again be very gently

4. Don't leave face wash on face for a long time (10-20 seconds for me)

5. Vitamins can be a good supplement to topicals (pun intended)

There you have it. These should be golden rules of ANY regimen you are using. DKR, Retinoids, BP, azelaic acid, antibiotics, whatever!

I will post my current regimen at the bottom of this post but here are some pictures of my face now as proof! I also put two pictures of the IB from this regimen.

IB:

I've been on this regimen for almost two months and i love it. It takes like 2 minutes every morning and night. I'm just gonna outline it here, if u want more info message me. I may not be clear to some people, but i am really happy with my face right now and ITS ABOUT DAMN TIME!! You can see some residual marks from past acne.

Night: purpose cleanser, epiduo, cerave

Morning: Purpose cleaner, prascion (sodium sulfacetamid/sulfur)

Vitamins in order of importance: OptiZinc (30mg two times a day), GNC brand fishoil with krill (4-6 pills a day depending on my mood), Vit D (1000 ius two times a day), Chromium sometimes, Garlic pills

Although i'm not an experienced acne-fighter, i think i can add a little, but important bit of advice to that list:

If your face starts burning, no matter which step you're in, wash your face immediately with water!! Never try to survive through the pain, because anything other than mild stinging WILL result in excessive peeling/scabbing/irritation (not the flakes kind of peeling, rather "skinning" kind!) and it takes a LOONG time to get over the irritation.

so you don't use any chemical exfoliants like salyicylci acid?

@fuglee: that before pick is not the moderate severe acne lol. I had just stopped another regimen...it was working and keeping me clear but it took like 30 min morning and night to do!! It was a regimen by Facereality skin care. It was good, but expensive and took wayyy too long. FML. I had the worst acne I have ever seen when I was 15, and went on accutane and did a bunch of ALA blue light treatments, and that got rid of the cysts and some of the scars, but I when I am not on a good regimen now I break out in every type of acne you can imagine (still some cysts, but not as beastly as pre-accutane). also, it may be hard to tell but my skin looks way more "alive" now..it was dull and irritated before.

@Mboona: No i don't. That would be an over kill. The epiduo has two ingredients which help get rid of excess skin build up...bp and differin. I have never been much of an exfoliating person. Iv tried BHA, AHA, mandelic acid, jojoba method, washcloths, and the babybrush method (yes iv suffered from acne for 6 years) and nothing makes much of a difference for me
