Potato Juice.. please read!

Hey everyone.. just wondering if anyone has heard of using potato juice as a natural acne treatment.

Someone recently told me about it and I did some research online .. I see lots of info on using potato juice topically to treat acne scars; however, I also found some stuff about people having positive results using topically on active pimples.

Some also recommend drinking fresh potato juice 2-3 times a day as an acne preventative. I just started juicing and drinking 3 potatoes worth of juice a day and also applying the juice topically to active areas.

I'd love to hear any feedback on interest anyone has so please reply.. I'll also update my status as the days go.

OH! OH! I'VE TRIED IT!

I used to do a grated potato mask every morning.

Itched like crazy, but it appeared to help my red marks, and it dried out my spots pretty well.

wasn't a miracle cure or anything, but it helped enough to be noticable.

Just be sure to wash off the residue if you do it all over your face, otherwise it looks weird and dry, and itches like all hell.

so i grated some potato like 5 mins ago. i was thinking only the Juice was good for you so i rubbed an open side to my face. did you mix the grated potato with anything or use it simply straight up by itself?

can i ask why you stopped doing the mask?

i just grated it up really fine in the smallest side on my box grater (kind of like a zester, if you've ever seen one before) and i just used it by itself, its usually really wet and goopy, if you don't have a really small side of a box grater, you could just blend it or throw it in a food processer until its like a pulp.

And i was tired of sneaking potatos in my room every morning (my family wouldve thought i was crazy) and it didnt completely clear me like i wanted, so i just stopped.

I've been juicing the potatoes and drinking the juice 3 times a day (taste is awful!) and i save a little bit of the juice each time and apply topically (so i'm doing that 3 times a day and i leave it on for about 30mins)

i don't really see a difference in day 3 but i'm going to keep this going for a couple weeks and see how it works

one thing i did notice from day 1 (not to sound gross) i've been having to go to the bathroom (number 2) wayyyy more often .. normally i probably do not go enough and i was reading online about chronic constipation and how it relates to acne .. very interesting stuff

Wise grandmothers tell me that rubbing potato skins on the face is good for you skin in general. It can only do good, right? I've tried it a couple times and my skin felt refreshed...but I didn't do it long enough to reap the benefits :X I think I'm going to try it again :)

just don't drink the juice of any potatoes that are looking green

thank you for the advice .. i did read that somewhere online that potatoes that are green can be toxic so anyone trying this should definitely avoid those
