Don't know if everyone on the paleo diet has experienced this, but when I followed it perfectly I also pooped perfectly. Every morning like clockwork. Just a thought - try modifying your diet.

Once a week is just terrible to be honest - not only for your skin but your interiors.

I agree, once a week is really not good! Look into Probiotics first thing in the morning and digestive enzymes with meals.

I would of said the same but I didn't want to be Hitler in this thread lol. But yeah, he basically has 6 days of fecal matter backed up rotting on his insides 24/7 lol. That is some serious s***! LOL! :cool:

Well, maybe the reason i go once a week is because my interiors are messed up already, maybe i have weird anatomy who knows. All i know is that it is normal for me i have done it all my life and although i see i am the only person in the poll that is like that i know theres gotta be other people out there like this. This is an acne board so i was hoping to make a connection between digestive/acne but i judging by the poll there really isn't one. I have tried

Tried probiotics, acidophilus pills didn't work

I think it's just natural for me to be like this, slow digestion or whatever.Still weird and annoying though.

Try Senna or another sennoside. Every three days with a full glass of water. Check with a doctor, although they're used in certain populations twice a day long-term, it's still best to check with a doctor for long term use.

Every other day for me. I agree with duchamp, once I started eating healthier my constipation went away. I don't think it helped much with my skin though.

it used to be every three days- sometimes even once a week like OP

But since i started drinking water religiously, meaning 10 or so large glasses a day. (i gave up soda for fear of getting teeth like my mother, she drinks 3-5 sodas a day, and almost ALL of her teeth are rotten, and my family has a history of very bad teeth) i go about 1-3 times a day, depending on how much i eat that day.

try drinking a lot of water OP?

Instead of probiotics I've found fiber supplements worked well for my poop schedule. If you don't feel like adding that to your routine I've also found kashi golean gets me really regular. It's after the first two days though- the first poo's the most difficult but then I'm golden!

Water and more fiber in your diet. Try paleo again, with more vegetables. You should have several servings of veggies with every meal.

For a quick poop, drink a cup of coffee and eat an apple. :nod:

Try high potency probiotics, preferably with 20+ billion cells.

High quality digestive enzymes like these http://www.iherb.com/Garden-of-Life-O-Zyme...-Caps/7796?at=0. Helps yyour body with degesting the food properly.

Could also try taurin which is bile stimulating.

Coconut oil has also helped people to be more regular.

Try staying away from dairy which can cause constipation.

Magnesium before bedtime, relaxes the body and is very good against constipation.

Sufficient water is aslo very important.

im sorry but if you are only pooping once a week you need to see a doctor ASAP. that is NOT healthy and you have something wrong internally. i couldnt imagine how a person would be able to live like that.

So far, I know of two causes of constipation.

1. An inability to digest dairy (stop eating dairy and see what happens!)

2. Hypothyroidism - Constipation is a main symptom for some people (but not for me!). Other symptoms:

Do you frequently feel "chilly"?

Do you have cold hands and feet?

If you are female, do you have menstrual irregularities?

Do you feel fatigued? (But usually these people have excess energy as a child, adolescent and through early adulthood (until their early 20's).

Does anyone else in your immediate family have thyroid problems?

If you feel like you might match some of these symptoms (especially the chilly symptoms), research hypothyroidism. Thyroid tests usually only catch extreme cases and frequently misdiagnose. It is one of the most common health problems in the US and one of the most underdiagnosed.

I just remembered another reason. Some people have difficulty digesting red meat. It gives them horrible constipation for some reason.

I do it once a day :redface: . Maybe you should keep an eye on what you eat, cuz it plays in a significant role in the way your body is going to work. Although if you are eating right, you should seriously consider going to a specialist.
