Got prescribed accutane yesterday because all the topicals in the past didn't clear me at all.

I only have mild-moderate acne but persistant.

I'm really excited right now , my derm understood my frustration and felt what acne does to me ( emotionally). In the past I tried minocyline,lymecyline,differin(2x),epiduo,benzamycin,sa,... So hopefully accutane will do his work.

I'm starting with 30 mg, not such a high dosage I believe. I'm aware of the side-affects and hope they won't affect me .

Grtz

First week finished tomorrow.

Suprisingly I'm not suffering any side affects. Is it too early?

I'm not expierncing dryness or chapped lips. I would say my skin is oily atm.

Acnewise not much has changed,I had some breakouts but not more then usual.

Good luck on your course! It'll take a little bit for the side effects to kick in. Pretty soon, you'll be wishing for all the side effects to go away!

Thanks :)

Having some drier lips atm,and I feel some purging .. Guess that's normal?

Someone that can recommend me a cleanser that I can buy in Belgium.

I'm using a Sebamed bar right now , but don't know if it's good or not.

For moisturizing I have Avene clean-ac soothing cream. Recommend by my derm.

Hi! Good luck on your course :) your exactly the same age as my younger brother! haha anyway. A good gentle cleanser that a lot of ppl on this board recommend is cetaphile. I also use Neova herbal wash. Both of these you can buy online too :)

aquaphor for nights on the lips. and regular chapstick/ blistex during the day. I also put aquafore around teh sides at the nose at the beginning of my course when the skin kept painfully flaking off. Invest in a good body lotion too. or at least a big one. I use to never put on lotion but now i have to.. its a hassle but the best way to prevent itchiness from dry skin.

Hi

13 days in.

Acnewise : My skin is getting less oily but still not dry , still having breakouts , maybe a bit more than usual. Too early to expect improvement.

Side affects: drier lips , itchy skalp? => could this be the accutane?

Wished I could skip 2 months or so to start seeing results coz I can't wait!

Having some bumps on my scalp. What could this be?

I had 1 or 2 before accutane but now I feel a new one coming up..

Is it something to worry about?

If i press on them It doesn't hurt,it's wierd. lol.

Hey

So far so good. Just visited my derm for blood control,my acne hasn't cleared up yet but that's not what I would expect after 1 month. It's going quite well though. Imo I've already had my IB. What worried me was that my derm didn't up my dosage and said I would be on accutane between 4-6months.

If I calculate my cumulative dosage this wouldn't be long enough, should I ask for a higher dosage or longer treatment? It worries me. I'm handling the drug really wel .

My acne isn't severe so thats why I get a lower dosage i suppose. But I'm worried my acne would come back if I only take 30mg for about 6months. Your thoughts on this please? (weight 70Kg :P)

1month in.

No side affects :)

Acnewise , don't know , things are going slow.

Anyone who could answer the dosage matter? Maybe I should say it to my derm next month?
