I've heard glycolic acid peel is very beneficial if you have stubborn recurring blackheads here and there. Should you try these home glycolic acid peel (30%-50% strength) if you are already using topical acne medication like Retin-A?

GA peels are great for overall topical exfoliation.

SA (salicylic) peels are really good for getting into the pores and clearing them out.

You should even wait some amount of time post stopping Retin-A to use anything like this.

I think that home peels are wonderful, but you should be careful not to use them on skin with wounds that are still healing.

Go to the Scar and hyperpigmentation forum and chek out the threads on GA and SA there.

The people on that forum know a lot about at home peels and Retin-A.

You could do a search within that forum and get lots of info.

I have blackheads on my nose that are SO difficult to get rid of!

I have found that peels help, but my best success came recently using baking soda to exfoliate and MoM (milk of magnesia) as a mask right after.

Amazing results, best I have ever had in my life!

Probably that would be safe for Retin-A users too, but I don't know.

Good luck. biggrin.gif
