I just had my last dermatologist visit today and forgot to ask him. What about after Accutane? What do you guys recommend? Do you use acne topicals? Or stick to the Cetaphil? Help! :)

retin-a gel or topical tretinoin ...

some sort of retinoind....

Its up to you and your derm, just make sure you don't get put on a retinoid that contains comedogenic ingredients lol

It really depends. Some people just use some over the counter products and others use a topical retinoid.

If you were to go with a topical retinoid, I would use a more mild one because your skin is very sensitive post accutane.

Yeah, my doctor didn't prescribe be anything for when i'm done :/

I'm wondering if I should go back.

Would it be a good idea to continue to use Cetaphil until my skin returns to oily? Then switch to over the counter benzol peroxide?

I used cetaphil cream(the huge tub) while on accutane, and post accutane too(over 3 years post accutane now) and no breakouts or anything

I suggest you go back! Maybe make an appointment for a couple weeks from now? This is a perfect time to start using a retinoid because your pores are clean and not clogged so there will be no IB. If you wait to long you may regret it. I am in the same exact position as you!

By the way, don't use (if you end up using Retin-A) the cream version. There is a very pore-clogging ingredient in it. Use Retin-A Micro or the gel.
