How long can you keep a moisturizer...

Recommended Posts

I've had the same huge tub of Cetaphil moisturizing cream for 4 years...and it's still not all gone. The derm. told me to get that one when I first went to him..4 years ago haha. This is probably an obvious question...but should I throw it away? How long do things like that last? Thanks!

Haha I use CeraVe cream too (yes, the tub is HUGE!)

Since you are using a tub, though- and putting your fingers in it which can introduce bacteria, I'd say that after 2 years you should throw it out.

It's better to be safe than sorry, and just throw it out and buy a new tub of it. Would you rather spend another $16, or get more acne in result of using a cream that possibly has bacteria in it?
