Hey !

I am 15yrs old and I have been on Accutane 20mg for about a week.

I read other people's blogs and decided to make one also.

People seem extremely friendly

I guess its easier to get thru the journey with other people who know what you`re going through.

Ive had acne for about 3years...(face back chest, literally EVERYWHERE)

I didnt have that many breakouts (only scarring) till this summer when I broke out a lot,

probably because of ... too much sun , and bad sleeping habits , and JUNKFOOD :P

so..my dermatologist put me on accutane,

i really hope it will work out for me !

HEY GUYS,

just wanted to give a quick heads up on what products I use,

so here it goes ,

face cleanser: Spectro Jel (Blemish Prone Skin - non irritating)

facial moisturizer: Spectro moisturizer (Blemish Prone Skin - non irritating)

body wash: Softsoap Coconut exfoliating body wash with jojoba butter

body moisturizer: Cetaphil moisturizing lotion

concealer: Maybelline Dream Mousse Concealer (beige medium)

foudation: L'oreal Paris - bare naturale - gentle mineral makeup (SPF 19)

brush: E.L.F. Professional Total Face Brush

Good Luck!

I was the same, I always had a few pimples but all of the sudden this summer it got really bad. We started around the same time so we will be somewhat on the same page. Hope everything goes well :)

Thanks so much for the support guys ! =)

It's been about a week now ... and I haven't had any side-effects.

I take that as a good thing? :P

I had dry lips once, but it wasnt bad at all , i just put on some vaseline and it was fine :)

I have combination/oily skin, and my skin hasnt been dry at all ... its still oily , yuck! >=(

--

Ive read and heard that in the first week you are supposed to get lots of breakouts..

cuz the medicine is getting rid of all the oil in your face..

I have been breaking out, and I got a pimple on the top of my lip, it was swollen for days!!!

Now the pimple is almost gone, thank god.

But i have been breaking out A LOT...and i was wondering (for those who have experience with accutane) , when the breakouts begin to stop??

thanks again for the support!! <3

Congrats on starting your course!!

My derm had told me that I wouldnt really notice any changes until about week 2, and she was right. That's about that time where I started breaking out a little bit more and my lips started getting really dry. I'm on my 51st day and I still have my good days and my bad ones. Everyone's skin is different, so it's difficult to say when your breakout will begin to stop. Not to discourage you by any means, but I currently have 5 actives and I'm not sure when that will end for me :(

Day 22

i havent really noticed any POSITIVE changes in my skin

and it sucks

school starts tomorow

and my skin feels and looks horrible

life kinda sucks :[

but yeah here is my UPDATE:

this may seem weird, but..

my breakouts keep ... "switching"

so like one week ill have a lotta acne on one cheek

and then itll slowly heal

and ill have break outs on the other cheek

so like never at the same time are my cheeks clear ...

one will always be breaking out

and in worst cases BOTH =(

* srry if tht didnt make sense ...... -_-"

anyways,

i can feel pimples forming on my T-zone

and thts like my #2 LEAST FAVOURITE PLACE WHERE ACNE FORMS

i think its horrible to manage

and i usually end up itching that area

and its also very difficult to conceal ...

my #1 least favourite place where acne forms

are the lips !

and right now i have a whitehead on the corner of my lip

and i had one on the top of my lip (where the cupids bow is )

and on the bottom

they are all healing now ...

~i wish i cud speed up the process of this medication though . sigh~

so yeah sorry i am ranting on ...

but i guess this is good for me

because i hope i can look back on this and smile...

so srry if iim tiring your eyes at the moment

anyways!

i have a lotta white heads forming

just 1 big one on my cheek

but the rest r pretty small ...

for BODY ACNE;

my shoulder/arm area is beginning to clear up day-by-day

and i dont occasionally look at my back ...

but i havent noticed any changes at all

and thats basically it !

if you read all this, wow well thank you for your time :)

and for actually caring about the girl spazzing

if any of you are reading,

could you please give me any tips for successful results in this journey?

that would be greatly appreciated

much lovee <33

Congrats on starting Accutane! I know I wish I would have done Accutane when I was 15, but I was so scared of the side effects. Definitely regret that now. In any case, WOW your skin is really reacting quickly! That's great because it seems as though you're going to undergo the "bad" stages of Accutane for a shorter amount of time since it's already started so early. I definitely relate with the "switching off" acne you mentioned - my cheeks take turns, too. I wonder what that means? Best of luck and I will definitely be keeping up. <3

thank you !!!

your comment gave me a little ray of hope .

though i am not loving my skin right now

and its just so embarrassing

i have lost most of my confidence these days

and its mainly due to my skin

when will the initial break out end?? :(

Don't stress..most people don't see great results til the 7-10 week mark so the magic month 3 awaits you!

Yes, I agree. I've never read of anyone seeing great results in month 1. Some people do in the second month, but it's a general rule of thumb that month 3 is the "magical month." Hang in there! Time goes by faster, I promise. :)

Thanks everyone !

My skin has improved a lot now!

I don`t have any acne on my face...well no horribly ugly pimples .

I just basically have scars .

Some of the scars / leftover acne get really red !

but they sort of fade out normally?

and i conceal it also .

But i do hope they will fade fully .

thanks again to everyone for the support

really helped :)
