SO not to be gross, but everyone poops, and some way more than others. My father goes about 5 times a day and he eats barely anything and my little brothers go all the time, and trust me they are not getting any fiber at all. However i am sure i eat way more fiber than them and i just don't go.

I think the matamucil and carrot juice are working though, i just went and it was large and orage (from carrots) hahaha sorry for description.

But what i was wondering was, why is it that i am not going regularly? I mean babies poop just about constantly and all they drink is milk and such. And i mean people that eat crap go all the time, but i eat healthy and i just don't poo!! why is this!?!? it is boggling!

I guess bad digestion. What is your diet?

http://www.marksdailyapple.com/fiber/

Summary: fiber (insolluble - grains etc) only work short term with your pooping problems, good gut flora is the way to go (so probiotics and good foods)

http://www.marksdailyapple.com/poop-health/

Constipation

This is a very common complaint. The two major factors that come into play with your clingers are stress and diet. Stress causes all kinds of digestive trouble. Think about times you’ve been anxious or nervous – you feel it in your gut right along with your sweating palms and racing heart. Prolonged or chronic stress can create stubborn stools. Diet is also important to consider. If you are eating sugar, carbs, processed meats, and missing out on copious veggies, fresh fruit, nuts, and healthy fats, you are at risk for constipation. Dairy and wheat are often causes of internal cement, so lighten up the load by sticking to a diet like Mark’s.

Aim for 6-12 servings of veggies and 1-2 servings of fruit. There is no good reason to overdo fiber. Excessive fiber intake can increase appetite and interfere with healthy digestion, mineral absorption, and elimination. Interestingly, what many folks don’t realize is that increasing fat intake can help with constipation and regular bowels. Try eating more olive oil, fish, avocados, nuts, and flax seeds. Buy DHA-enhanced eggs. And take two or three fish oil pills daily. We promise, it’ll help. And cut out that blasted soda!

Are you taking metamucil at the same time daily? And how many times a day are you taking it? I take it 3 times a day. 2 spoons at night. And one right before I wake up. I go right after the spoon in the morning. All that matters is if you're going at least once a day. Just because you aren't going 5 times a day doesn't mean that you're less healthy or anything ;) Metamucil changed my life seriously.

^^ Yes, it's all about intestinal flora. Look here to answer your questions http://www.fibermenace.com/constipation/faq.html#8 it even mentions the thing about why babies go so much (breast milk is rich in probiotics). And here, about flora: http://www.fibermenace.com/gutsense/flora.html

Once a day is perfectly fine. Make absolutely sure you're drinking sufficient fluid with the metamucil and at other times during the day as well.

Oh wow thanks!!! i have a theory that the typical American diet kills our good flora, leading to acne, i wish i could just take like 40 billion live cultures a day to fix it, i hate the candida diet, and i don't think it's working for me.

the baby and flora thing just proves flora essentially even more thanks!!

Not just the American diet, but also our requirements that everything be sterile, and pasteurized and chlorinated etc. One of the best sources of probiotic bacteria is dirt believe it or not. Do you think our ancestors washed their fruits and veggies? There are societies around the world that thrive on vegetarian diets because they get plenty of B-12 from fertilizing thier crops with human feces (and not washing them...)

Haha well obviously not all of this is directly transferable to most people's lives but I am just trying to make a point.

Well if you haven't had gas in that long you definitely can rule out candida! haha

Did you try taking a magnesium supplement? I think I suggested this before but it works wonders along with some vitamin c.

On the candia diet I have been going up to three times a day! WHOA! Before I used to go once a day at 11:00 am, EVERYDAY..... I was that regular lol. But now I'm all over the place going 2 to three times a day. It's almost to the point where I feel like I have to GO for about a half hour before I can actually go.... it's weird. Anyway I think a lot of it has to do with the vit C, magnesium and HIGH amount of fat in my diet (I am eating A LOT of coconut oil, olive oil, fatty meats). On the candida diet about 70% of my calories come from fat! Craziness!
