neosporin and bandaids

Recommended Posts

Guest beccaboo00

i pick my skin which leaves scabs of course.

i used to just put neosporin on and sleep like that.

that worked ok but not as good.

i had this painful nasty scab that every time i would rub it a piece would come off and it would bleed reopening the wound.

the neosporin by its self wasnt working fast enough.

2 nights ago i decided to put a bandaid over it and cake it in neosporin the next day my scab came off cleanly no bleeding or ripped skin.

normally it would have taken at least 3 more days to heal.

now its a light smooth scar.

and thats all because of a bandaid.

My derm told me that (because me skin breaks easily and takes weeks to heal) your skin requires moisture to repair itself. So kuddos on finding that our for yourself.

Glad you discovered that. For further details, see the link in my signature that starts "What to do..."

I discovered this long time ago too, however I did it with BP. If you have a bad breakout, put on BP and cover with a bandaid before you go to bed, I find it helps alot.

Hello,

A bandaid on your skin may also be irritating due to the adhesive. The fact that it helped you is likely due to the fact that, that way, you didn't touch the scab with your fingers and reopen it/reinfect it again. But it may not be a good rule of thumb.

Best wishes,

Una
