Anybody ever put vaseline on their face?

Recommended Posts

I put some on one of my marks whenever it becomes red and it helps get the redness out. My grandma said their was some brown kind she use to have that helps get your complextion back but she can't find any in the stores now. What is ya'll experience with vaseline?

Hi,

personally I have only ever used it on my lips, but I have heard that vaseline in general is non-comedogenic - on ingredient charts, pure petrolatum is usually marked as non pore-clogging, and this is basically what vaseline is. It is heavy stuff though...

I'd recommend an intensive moisturiser such as emu oil instead.

But anyway, here are links to other good threads discussing vaseline on the boards:

Vaseline website - some info on the ingredients.

Negative comments about vaseline

Hope this is helpful. smile.gif

Yeah i use vaseling on my face, i use it on my eyebrows after i pluck them, and i also use it on dry patches on my face that old acne leaves behind, it has never broke me out, i like it. i thick it is also good for after having done a tca peel, for keeping the skin moist.

I've used something similar after invasive procedures called "aquaphor". I haven't heard of vaseline being used for redmarks. You could do a patch test first and see how your skin reacts in a small area before using it all over your face.
