BP doesn't absorb!?

Recommended Posts

I have been using a benzoyl peroxide gel (2.5%), for almost a year now. My acne has suddenly started to flare up, so I've been using more generous amounts. However, if I apply the BP at night, when I wake up 8 hours later and wash my face, a thin film of BP can be seen all over my face. It seems that most of this BP isn't absorbing, but rather just creating an invisible coating on my face that can only be seen when washed.

Is this supposed to happen? Has anyone else experience this?

When you're applying the BP, how long are you taking to move it around on your skin? Do you move it around until it feels tacky?

Some of the BP is going to stay on the surface of your skin no matter what. As long as some of it seems to be absorbing, I wouldn't worry too much.
