Why does Differin require a precription

Recommended Posts

This might be a stupid question.

I was reading through some old threads and if Differin just makes your skin cells divide faster and some old ladies use it and look 20 years younger cause of the process of how it works why is it that it requires a prescription? Why is it not sold in cosmetics sections?

Why does Green Cream not require a prescription but Differin, etc do. Are they stronger? I always wondered the same thing about benzyl peroxide.

Good question. Maybe because a medical company or whatever developed it and not a cosmetic company? And I don't know... do they have other strong retinoids on the market? Maybe because they can be harmful (very) if used improperly.
