My old tick bites become inflammed with my acne...

Recommended Posts

I just thought I'd mention this:

As a ten year old child, I was bitten on three separate occasions by ticks. My mom removed the ticks by burning their tails and letting them remove their heads by themselves. The tick bites healed for many years but came back around the time I developed acne. When my acne flares up, the three tick bite spots crust over, ooze clear liquid and whelp up like an acne pimple. When my acne clears up (whether on medication or by diet), the tick bite spots cannot be found - becoming smooth like the rest of my skin. All three tick-bites occurred in my scalp (ticks seek out hair).

You probably think this is insane, but it is true.

My theory: Food triggers seem to cause all sorts of inflammation in my body. The inflammation and infections on my face occur wherever there is a facial "imperfection" under my skin (blackheads, white heads). It seems the tick probably left some small part of himself in my scalp and my body forever thinks it is a black head -- and it becomes infected just like the pimples on my face :P.

I've never mentioned this before on these forums and decided to see if anyone else experiences something similar.
