Important question, why do I...

Recommended Posts

Hellllo.

I consider my skin not acne prone and the reason for my moderate acne is because I took poor care of it and almost never even cleaning it with water (gross, I know) but I hated washing my face when I was a kid. My whole family never had any acne, maybe a pimple or so.

Anyway, enough history ;) My question is why when one of my pustules I guess or whitehead when it heals another one is growing right next to it? I assume this is some kind of infection as all my pimples do that and rarely appear independently? Is this from me popping them?

Thanks.

Maybe it is because when you have a pimple you increase the chances for the infection to move to the surrounded area. Meaning, there is an increase of bacteria in the area.

Acne's not caused by dirt.

If you now have acne, you are now acne-prone. Don't pop them; that can lead to scarring. If you simply MUST pop them, follow the instructions here:

A gentle cleanser is a good idea and you only need to cleanse twice a day. More cleansing is just adding to irritation and thus potentially to more breakouts. Various cleanser recommendations: http://www.acne.org/findingsupplies2.php#step1
