Drying the crap out of your skin, then moisturizing it!

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to know if anybody else on here has tried this.

Do everything in your power to dry the hell out of your skin for a few days until the redness almost appears invisible...

THEN

Start moisturizing your skin to prevent it from producing oil.

I think the mistake that a lot of people make is that they keep on drying their face up for as long as possible because it makes their skin look..... them wam! you wake up one morning and find you've had a huge breakout, and your face is oily and red raw.

Another mistake is people who wouldnt dare let their face dry up at all, so they just keep it moisturizered all the time, which may help reduce oil production but doesn't reduce the red marks that are already there.

So it got me thinking.... Could the combination of both be whats needed for healthier looking skin?

why would moisturizing not reduce red marks? the healthier skin is the better it'll fade the marks, so keeping it moisturized is essential. I think you're complexion just changes, possibly darker or blotchier when you dry your skin, therefore hiding the blemishes, but they are still there?

your thinking is like this... milk is pretty darn awesome good calcium but i do need some vitamin c and OJ is pretty delicious BUT if i put them TOGETHER.......WIN!!!

but i think completely drying it out is a bad idea a little may be good but most ppl i wouldnt trust because theyd over do it (the mounds of BP ive used on zits b4) which would only cause harm ie. chemical burns.

Just an Idea.

I've been trying it myself and my skin has looked fairly good (not perfect) for a whole week.

Usually when I dry my skin out, it makes it look good for 2-3 days, then it brakes out and goes all red.

But because I now use moisturizer after I dry my skin out, its preventing my oil glands from producing excess oil to make up for the dry skin.

That way, i'm able to reduce the redness quickly, without my oil glands getting out of control.
