MAYBE I'm being paranoid, but has anyone had worsening of TMJ/jaw popping, or know how to relieve it?
My jaw popped before due to braces as a kid, but never ALL the time. Now every time I open my mouth, it pops. Since starting Accutane (I'm going into month 5) I have had issues with other joints (ankles, elbows, lower back mainly) so I'd assume it could have an effect on the jaw joint as well, but holy hell it's annoying.
lol this happened to me. I never had it before, but started noticing it around month 4(finished close to 6months), that my jaw would pop if i open my mouth too wide. Weirdly i never got any joint problems elsewhere besides just once, and it left within 1-2days. I'm heading one month post accutane and its still there. It doesnt bother me too much right now though, i hope it doesnt get worse though.
Hello All,
I am starting to notice this more. I had some slight TMJ before, but this is getting crazy. I have also had some ear problems this winter...I'll be going to an ENT next week, hoping this is just a side effect that will go away. Has anyone had any resolution of this?
My joints are a little sore, but nothing unbearable.

I know this is an older post...did any of these symptoms go away for you?
I took Accutane at age 17 for 1 year. Right around this time, I noticed jaw/ear clicking and popping. I thought nothing of it at this time. Now I'm 23 years old and have brutal TMJ. I believe there is a strong correlation between Accutane and TMJ. There is no doubt that Accutane dries your joints and breaks down cartilage. TMJ pain is a very difficult thing to deal with, and for this reason I would factor this into your decision when considering Accutane.
