is there any consensus as to how long you should be without a pimple before your accutane course ends?

I know you don't want to hear this- because you want a definitive answer- but it varies among everybody. Ideally, you SHOULD clear all of your acne before your treatment ends.

I took Accutane twice. The first tim was a fluke.

But the second time, I cleared up completely about a couple weeks shortly before finishing my treatment. But those few weeks beforehand involved tiny pimples and stubborn ones that wouldnt go away.

why do you think you had a relapse? was the cumulative dose to low the first time? did you go back to the same dermatologist?

if someone has a relapse but their acne is mild or slightly moderate would they have a hard time of finding a derm that will put them on for a 2nd course?

I'm wondering the exact same thing. Is there any change to the cumulative dose if a person responds really well to the drug at the start? Does that effectively lower the dose needed to put the acne into remmission?

And to answer your second question Karam, I think that is totally at the discertion of the derm. Some will, some won't.
