Differin advice - should I use it or no?

Recommended Posts

So, the topic pretty much describes it.

I have extremely dry, extremely sensitive, and extremely fair skin. As in, if I don't put on my Cetaphil Ultimate Hydrating Lotion for Sensitive Skin, my face cracks and becomes virtually unmovable.

My doctor gave me Differin 0.3 gel to clear up the blocked pores and other small non-inflamed bumps on my face. I'm very skeptical, I know she's a dermatologist, but I know my skin. And I really don't want to deal with peeling skin, because dried-out skin is the worst.

I'm mostly clear thanks to Yaz, except for a few pimples around my period (which I tend to pick at and make worse :wall: )

Anyway, advice is welcome!

yikes, well, your dermatologist should know best, especially if you explained your skins condition.. but .3% does seem strange for only a few pimples from time to time.. I was under the impression differin would completely restructure your skin and take 8 odd weeks to take effect, so that beats me, sorry!

QUESTION: if Im on differin can I use lemon juice during the day to help fade red marks, they wont conflict with eachother?? thanks

That's what I thought, too. I don't think I'll use it, not with my skin's history. As for the lemon juice, I wouldn't, it seems a bit too much. I don't think they'd interfere, but you shouldn't use too many acidic or harsh products on your face at a time.
