loves*jher 0 Share Posted April 10, 2010 hi, im more than 1month into the dk regimen and I am generally clear so I want to start hiding hyper pigmentations as my next step. I tried what Dan recommended, the Almay smart shade concealer but it doesn't really hide my spots. I am extremely jealous of the girls that hides their marks pretty good. I hope you guys can recommend a concealer that can hide acne marks and blends with the skin. I know everybody have different skin tones and what works for others might not work for me. But anyway, I wanted to hear advices and try if it could work with me. Thanks a lot!.,()
Sean_123 0 Share Posted April 10, 2010 Im a guy and use concealer myself. I need to look clean and spots just dont. If you have redness, its a good idea to get a green concealer that you dab on and this will counteract the redness. Then over the top of that use your colour maybelline cover stick. Thats the best one I have found. Also use a setting poweder to really get it to stick on and keep them in your bag for top ups.
Stephen1346 0 Share Posted April 10, 2010 i'm a guy and i use concealer but i just use it on the spots/marks themselves and dont tend to use any other foundation , so i have to blend really well because the concealer is of a tanned shade. i know it sounds weird using concealer as a guy and because i dont use any other makeup my skin tone looks uneven in certain places but i'd prefer that than the really red marks that pimples leave.the product i use is witch hazel natural skin tone concealer , and it contains extracts of witch hazel which are supposed to help fight blemishes so i suppose its a bonus http://www.amazon.co.uk/Witch-Concealer-Na...im/B001E2ZREC/2thats a link to the product if you are from the UK this isn't an add and i'm not trying to sell you anything , it's just so you are familiar with what i'm talking about , so its up to you , Good luck

Have you tried a setting powder. If you buy one in a lighter tone you just pat it over your face and it will really help even out the concealer and your skin, make them a closer match. It will also help absorb any excess oil. Just check that the brand you get wont clog pores. Edited April 10, 2010 by Sean_123

Valerie44 93 Share Posted April 10, 2010 I use Dermablend Quick Fix Concealer so far thats the best one I found to really hide the marks and blends very well and easily. Its also the only one that hasnt made me break out which is a huge plus
cherubie 0 Share Posted April 11, 2010 (edited) I use Mac's studio finish concealer and it hides my spots almost perfectly. I tried drugstore concealers (covergirl) as well as other department store brands (clinique/lancome) and the mac one is the ONLY one that's able to conceal it THAT well. I couldn't even see the brown spots unless I REALLY stare at my face. I know it's a little on the more expensive side (~$16), but drugstore concealers are already $7-9 already. Try it out, if it doesn't work for you, just return it.Just to give you an idea (and why I recommend this concealer so much)This is without any makeup:This is with tinted moisturizer:This is again with the concealer: Oh, and this is in NC30 shade (this is actually my first mac product). What I did was went up to the Mac counter, told them I want to try their concealer (I already did a lot of research online prior to going in, so I knew exactly what product to ask for). The sales lady sat me on a chair, looked at my skin, and tried to find the shade that matched my skin the most. She used a concealer/eye shadow brush and dabbed it on. So as far as finding the shade that matches your skin, leave it up to the makeup person. Edited April 11, 2010 by cherubie
linachu 0 Share Posted April 11, 2010 MAC and MAKEUPFOREVER have some of the best concealers. They are pricey though. Try using a setting powder to make the cover up hold.If you have a lot of redness, use green to counteract then a skin shade.MUFE, has a 5 set palette which is great. It's creamy, and blends well with a brush or your finger.Something cheaper, is Vichy's Dermablend, or the original Dermablend. And for drugstore; I haven't found that works as good as these but some I have are from Maybelline, L'oreal and Rimmel. Rimmel I must say had the best. Also the Body Shop has great concealers.
acnegone010 0 Share Posted May 13, 2010 Okay so lets say you are trying to hide the hyperpig left over. I have olive skin tone and the marks tend to look a little brown. So so I choose a shade lighter or the shade that matches my skin tone. I'm a medium. I feel like anytime I use concealer it turns like an orange color on me if I choose medium but I choose medium/light it's too light. I've tried the almay smart shade concealer but it turns orange and it's too sheer.
