I see alot of great posts on Vitamin D3 helping with acne but I had the exact opposite experience. I'm 50 yrs old and I started taking 3,000 iu's per day as I heard it was good for women to prevent breast cancer amongst other things.

Within a week of taking it I started breaking out - very cystic acne. I took it for about a month and didn't put it together initially but when my face was literally looking like a teen ager going thru puberty it suddenly dawned on me that it might be related to the D so I stopped taking it. I've been off it now for about 4-5 days and my acne is going away and no new outbreaks. After reading that D is a hormone and not a vitamin I'm fairly certain it was the cause of my acne.

I'm also in menopause and I started bleeding. I would say based on my experience to use caution with vitamin D3.
