Thanks for the replies guys. I have previously taken a course of minocycline and am currently taking lymecyline and applying a benzoyl peroxide 5% gel. Believe it or not my acne was worse than this a month ago but its slowly getting better. Would my dermatologist still insist on antibiotics even though I have been on them before?
I have similer acne to yours on my torso and I was on three different antibiotics for months at a time and saw very little improvement.
I then was referred to a dermatologist and he must have looked over my skin for 20 seconds and immediately suggested Roaccutane.
Being male as well the process is a lot easier. I reckon you'd be able to get it quite easily.
OK so I'm resurrecting this thread as I thought I'd show how my scars are healed after ~4.5 years! I will add more images soon. Also I want Some advice on next steps. I would like to know what I should do with regards to getting treatment. I'm in the UK so I think the NHS is out of the question But how about private treatment? How much would it cost? Thanks!
Edit 1: I was on Accutane for about 6-8 months (So long ago I have forgot the exact length!). The images are of my shoulders (If it wasn't obvious )
Your scars are hypertrophic which can be difficult to treat. I'm not that familiar with treating this type of scar, but I think if you posted this in the scarring section of the forums you'd probably get a lot more helpful responses. I'm glad to see, though, that your acne is gone. Must feel good!
