Benzoyl Peroxide and blackheads

Hi everyone, im new here, so forgive me if this has already been asked.

According to Dan "Benzoyl peroxide oxygenates skin. Acne bacteria cannot live in oxygenated environments"- this is all well and great, but Im told that blackheads become darker as they react with the oxygen in the environment. So, by this logic, surely something that oxygenates the skin further would make blackheads even darker, and therefore more undesirably noticeable?

Thoughts greatly appreciated

Blackheads are open to the surface which is why they are black.

BP deposits the oxygen deep in the pores where the acne bacteria live.

Hope that makes sense.
