I'd be grateful if someone could tell me what sort of acne I have (pics)

Recommended Posts

I'm fifteen years old and male. I've tried the regime with no success and have no idea what sort of acne this is. Any help would be appreciated :)

Dude tell your parents to take you to a dermatologist man. Worst mistake I ever made was not going til I was in my 20's. Youre only 15 bro. I'm telling you, you'll thank me years down the road.

Dude your acne looks like its ANGRY D:

Looks like its real irritated and inflamed

If you can't see a dermatologist (insurance won't cover it for you?)

then I'd recommend trying treatments more for sensitive skin..

or check out the 'biggest mistakes' page under the 'get clear' bar

to double check you didn't do anything wrong :\

But yeah, the BEST thing you could do would be to see a dermatologist.

It also sort of looks like a lot of dark spots from healing acne that appear red,

perhaps an AHA would do something,...though thats kind of harsh if you haven't

been using the regimen.

Check out other treatments

Or how to reduce inflamation

Thats my opinion,...I'm afraid of giving you the wrong info but who knows I might be right

I am surprised the Regimen didn't work for you.

Details?

Like how long were you on it for?

You have inflamed acne and it looks severe. I would be gentle with your skin, this means no granular exfoliators or scrubs. You need an antibacterial like mandelic acid and benzoyl peroxide. You can ice the active lesions for a few minutes 2x daily to take down some of the inflammation then spot treat the active lesions with a BP & sulfur mix.

Thanks for the help guys. I tried the regimen until my benzoyl peroxide ran out--there was no noticeable difference so I did buy another tube. I'm using Clearasil at the moment, which is mostly benzoyl peroxide. It seems to have slightly lessened my spots, but not made much impact.

I've arranged to see my doctor on friday, which should hopefully recommend me to a dermatologist.

Also, how can I get the products NC Esthetician mentioned?

Once again, thanks a lot guys :)
