retin a taken orally?

Recommended Posts

Anyone ever taken the oral form of retin-a? My doc gave me a referral to see a dermatologist to possibly get this. Are there any horror stories of this or is it more successful than the retin-a gel?

Topical retin-A is generically called tretinoin. Accutane is an oral retinoid called isotretinoin.

Oral tretinoin is used to treat leukemia, so I'm sure you're doctor is going to recommend Accutane.
