How much have you spent so far? ($$)

Recommended Posts

State the time elapsed since you first consciously started treating your acne, and how much you've estimated you've spent since (on both acne treatment and any related problems, such as scars).

Personally, this upcoming Feburary will mark two years for me. I would say about $1200 total, coming from Proactiv, Dan's regimen, numerous other creams, the beautyskin lamp ($300), chemical peels, and a few other things.

probably in the range of 500 USD... that's on otc only, thanks mom. acne has been a problem for about 9 months tho, which adds a lot of weight for spending.

Rx would run over a thousand without health insurance.

they do a killing.

More than my parents should have to spend on me. I feel bad for wasting their money because they keep buying crap that doesn't end up working anyways.

My main issue is picking too, so everything they buy me I can't really use I guess. It just dries me out and gives me scabs and all that. I've got to kick this habit before I can really use anything.

Hmm... that's a tough one to estimate for me. In about the past 8 years though, I should have spent a small fortune but luckily there are some decent people that tried to help me out financially because they felt sorry for me because my scars were/are so bad.

Proactive, all kinds of OTC shit etc., which had to add up to a good amount

Derm visits weren't cheap

I was on antibiotics for several months, insurance paid for most of it

I was on accutane for around a year, insurance paid most of it thankfully, or it would have been outrageous

I had like $10,000 (yeah, ten thousand) worth of work done on me for free by a plastic surgeon over the period of two years, subcisions/excisions/punch floats/microdermabrasions/peels/erbium yag laser treatments, and some other stuff.

I had 8 full face fraxels done on me for free by another doctor, they would have added up to around $6400 if I had to pay for them.

Here's the kicker though, know how much all of this shit has helped my scars? Nada. (well, maybe 10-15%)

Awesome

From 1995-Present for doctor and specialist co-pays, prescription topicals, antibiotics, OTC products, and Accutane with blood work, my guestimate is approximately 10k.

I know right? It's unbelievable. That snake oil doesn't come cheap these days though. Those plastic surgeons (or spawns of satan, whatever you want to call them) sure did pick the right career though lol.
