Supplement timing for digestion

Hey everyone just seeking some advice to clear up my confusion. I have read that drinking anything, either straight before, during or straight after a meal is bad for digestion. I take a zinc supplement with food and was wondering, when is the best time to take it so the digestion process is not altered?

Usually it will say on the label on the supplement whether it should be taken with a meal or on an empty stomach. As for before or after, it really makes no difference. I think the time of day may make a slight difference; I take most of my supplements (Except for the empty stomach ones) in the morning, when digestion is optimal.
