Miss Teacher Lady 0 Share Posted December 4, 2009 (edited) First of all, I apologize if this post is in the wrong place.I'm 22 and been fighting acne since I was 11. Sometimes I found find a cure that would work for a few years, but it would always come back. I suppose that I have been a lurker for some time around here, trying to find my own cure, but I have come to the conclusion that I need advice or your take about my next steps... Most of my family (who are far older) have told me that they had given up and just started using baby wash (like Johnson and Johnson) and took vitamin A &E. In the past I never figured it would be strong enough... but I'm at my wits end.Regimens that worked in the past:-(When I had health insurance) Neutrogena facewash and benzaclyn worked for 3 years.-Proctiv worked for about 2 and a half years.-Clean and Clear's system worked for about 6 months.Things that did NOTHING or made it worse:-Johnson and Johnson Purpose with BP cream-The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil System-Netrogena's 3 Step System-Cetaphil Edited December 4, 2009 by Miss Teacher Lady
Lady Odd Duck 1 Share Posted December 4, 2009 I don't know much about these products so forgive me if I'm asking about something you've tried already. Have you tried anything with sulfur in it? I've been using Acnomel for a few weeks now and it's been helping greatly. A similar product is Clearasil Adult/Tinted Acne treatment. In my case, Acnomel dries out the pimples before they have a chance to turn into massive cysts. It's also drying out an active cyst very effectively. I think it may be improving some hyperpigmented spots as well, though it may be too early to say for sure.
