Accutane - Dry Scalp

Recommended Posts

I have been on the Tane for almost a month. My scalp has been dry and flaky for about a week. What products would you recommend for dry scalp when on Accutane? It needs to be gentle of course.

Let me know if you find anything that you have used that doesn't dry out or irritate your scalp.

Also, I am still getting a few break outs here and there, but my skin is clearing. I am hoping the slight break outs are normal.

Thanks for your help all & the best of luck to you!!

I use Head and Shoulders Smooth and Silky (for dry hair) and it killed the flakes and itchies the first time I used it! I love it because it's super moisturizing and doesn't leave my hair and scalp all dried out. I use the shampoo/conditioner all in one and then follow up with regular conditioner.

Good luck

Hi! I also experienced dry scalp while on Accutane. I used Head & Shoulders Dry Scalp Care. It helped with the itchiness and dandruff. If you don't mind it, you can also try taking showers less often.

If you're beginning to clear up after just one month, that's a really good sign! Your skin is going to look great!

I also used head and shoulders smooth and silky and it works great. You can also try massaging some jojoba oil into your scalp before you shampoo. It feels great and helps with itching.
