Maximus Decimus Merideous 73 Share Posted November 21, 2009 Alright, so obviously avoid popping pimples when you can...sometimes however you need to do some "self-surgery" (you can't walk around with a huge white head or you know it will pop anyways when you wash your face, and you can spread the bacteria that way).Iv perfected this technique for popping white heads when your on the regimen. The only other product you will need is 10% benzoyl peroxide1. wash your face very gently with your cleanser, use warmer than usual water (taking a shower is the best option, your skin will get softer)2. Do the regime like usual, apply BP and moisturizer (you can use either lotion or AHA, doesnt matter)3. Wait 10 minutes after moisture is rubbed in4. Make sure your hands are clean! pop the pimple using a gentle, pushing in and squeezing motion. Do not force it! make sure the pimple is ready to be popped; if you get the white pus out with the first try you are good to go5. Blot off blood, wait a few minutes. Then apply a dot of 10% BP to the pimple and rub it in gently6. Wait 5 to 10 minutes, apply a dot of AHA and rub it in gently7. If you CAN continue to apply aha a few more times throughout the day (3 or 4 times is good), this step is not essentialThis method works 99% of the time for me. Let me know what you guys think! rocketteem 0 Share Posted November 21, 2009 Sounds good, BUT... using a sterilized needle/sharp object is better, and let it drain itself, and rinse it out with water. Pushing on the skin can break blood vessels and cause pain/infection and only make it worse... so pushing until it starts to bleed a lot is also not the best.Either way, popping is not best.. But sometimes, it is indeed necessary...

But sometimes, it is indeed necessary... The only ones that really are "necessary" to pop (as in you won't get any with that thing on your face) are those slightly suppurating ones. Leave the rest alone. ESPECIALLY the insignificant ones. In the process of trying to pop those you'll almost always do more harm than good. Overall, take this guide with a grain of salt. Don't go attacking a cyst because it "feels" ready.
