Should I start the regimen?

Recommended Posts

Ok, so I have had acne for the better part of a decade. It's better now than it has been in the past, but I would love to be able to get rid of it.

I'm on doxycycline, and have been for about three weeks. I am seeing minor improvements, but nothing major. I wouldn't expect results for another while anyway.

Soooo. Should I start the regimen? I am on antibiotics and I have sensitive skin. Also, I work as a lifeguard in the summer, so I have a lot of exposure to the sun.

Does it work ? I have read that most people think it does, and that is encouraging. Is it worth it?

I'd say try it if you want. A lot of people have had success and you won't know until you try it.

If your skin is sensitive, just use less BP. My skin is somewhat sensitive, as well, and I've been on the regimen for about 4 months and only use 1/2 pump of Dan's BP because if I use more, my skin gets irritated and breaks out (learned that one the hard way)

If you try it, don't expect perfection. I still get a few zits here and there and an occasional breakout ,but it did reduce my acne by 95% - which is still pretty darn good, and better so once I started using AHA.

And yes, wear sunscreen, no matter the season! Just make sure the sunscreen you use on your face is MEANT for the face and is labeled non-comedogenic.
