Glycolic acid for these???

Recommended Posts

OK, so I've been on the regimen for awhile now and my skin has really cleared up. For the most part, I have hormonal acne. A cyst here and there and maybe 2-3 whiteheads at a time. It doesn't sound bad and it's not especially since I'm about 85% clear  . I have scars, (whatev, my skin's better) but my NEW issue is that I have tiny little bumps on the tops of my cheeks. They're not poppable (I tried, yikes!) and it's like 9-10 of them and u can really see them. I think it's milia. My question is how can I get them to hit the bricks? I heard glycolic acid was good for them and I just got Alpha Hydrox enhancing cream with 10% AHA that got really good reviews online, so my ?uestion is "has anyone else dealt with these bumps, and if so how did u make them go away? I'm so close to being clear :surprised: I can taste it so help would be appreciated!

They might be closed comedones (a type of noninflamed acne). The 2.5% BPO used in the regimen generally isn't strong enough to tackle noninflamed acne lesions. These tend to be more stubborn and harder to get rid of than inflamed acne is.

The AHA product may help - some people get good results from glycolic products. I used glycolic for awhile and it helped my noninflamed acne a little bit. I have had better results from other products though. Mandelic acid works better for me, as do OTC retinoids like Vivant Derm A Gel or Exfol-A.

It can also help to go to a qualified esthetician to have the bumps extracted. I get facials with extractions on a regular basis and it really helps keep my skin clear.
