Nuts and seeds question

Recommended Posts

How much nuts and seeds should one eat?

I just brought almonds and pumpkin seeds to my diet, I also eat a lot of sunflower seeds. Could almonds flare up acne?

I don't think nuts and seeds are awful for acne...UNLESS you have an allergy or are sensitive to them, and a lot of people do. I eat pumpkin seeds all of the time and haven't noticed them contributing to my acne worsening or getting better.

I probably wouldn't eat too much, though, simply for calorie sake! Maybe a handful of nuts a day should do.

I think its good to eat maybe a handful of nuts a day. But be careful first about which kinds you buy because you could be allergic to some... I am allergic to peanuts so I eat mostly walnuts, seeds and almonds. But I think if you eat too much a day it is not so healthy... like I said, for me I find that a handful is enough :)

Well, almonds aren't nuts they are seeds of fruit related to peaches, cherries, etc. And they are somewhat common allergens, so yes, they could cause acne if you are allergic to them.

Almonds and especially pumpkin seeds are very good sources of nutrients beneficial for acne. And pumpkin seeds are a very high quality protein source.
