Why not cleanse BEFORE shaving?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Since we all know that a key to a good shave is:

1) To make sure your skin is wet with warm water

2) That your face is clean and free of dirt/oil that can irrirate while shaving,

Wouldn't it therefore make MORE sense to cleanse BEFORE shaving (so that all the dirt/oil is removed BEFORE shaving) if you don't use the Acne.org cleanser as shaving cream??

I have always cleansed before shaving. I use the Neutrogena Razor Defense Shave Gel for Men and figure since I cleansed my face BEFORE shaving, my face would no longer have oils/dirt on it to irritate my skin while shaving. Then I applying my non-comedogenic shave gel and shave (with Gillette Sensor Excel razor). What the heck is the point of cleansing after shaving even if you don't use the Acne.org cleanser as shaving cream? It's not like my shave gel or razor clogs my pores or adds dirt on my face. My face was cleansed before shaving and remained cleansed even after I shaved.

This has worked absolutely great for me and my skin is 100% clear.
