I started taking 5000 IU daily a week ago and haven't noticed much difference in my skin from it. My mood seems to be better, though. :o

I have heard vitamin d can help with mood. Interesting. What was your reasoning beyond the 5000iu? was that amount recommended?

5000 IU is the recommended dosage for adults (vitamin D council) that don't live in a sunny climate, but it really depends on your personal situation: your age, your build, skin type, where you live, etc. You can get more information here: http://www.vitamindcouncil.org

thanks for the link. very informative. i'm experimenting with 4000iu right now. i always thought that seemed like a lot but with minimal direct sun exposure, i know i can't be getting enough from the sun itself.
